Our 12" Woodturning Handles are milled from 6061 aluminum round bar rather than tubing for better balance and strength. A comfortable gently ribbed rubber cover provides great grip and keeps hands from cold surface. Tool secured with two Stainless Steel 5/16" x 18 TPI set screws. Handle choice of 5/8" or 1/2" receivers.
The 12" Woodturning Handles with 1/2" receivers are a great choice for use with all of our tools. It also is a nice size for smaller lathes. They are 1-1/4" in diameter.

One of the most comfortable handles I've ever used, especially when you're turning for a long period of time.

Comfortable grip, nice weight. The 1/2" receptor is very smooth. The tools slip in and out effortlessly. Purchased the quick change knob makes changing tools a breeze.

I purchased a D-Way one half inch bowl gouge with the twelve inch handle. Prior to my purchase, a question I asked by e-mail was answered immediately. Following my on-line order, the tools were shipped the same day. I am extremely pleased with the gouge and its handle. The engineering and construction are clearly outstanding. The handle is very comfortable to use, the gouge holds its edge very well, comes apart for sharpening in moments, and is completely secure in the handle. I love it. Thank you.

I love this tool handle. I sharpen my gouges out of the handle, so I added Dave's thumb screw to this handle. By putting the thumb screw below the gouge (rather than at the top) my gouges sit flute up on the lathe bed.
The diameter is perfect for average sized hands...many tend to be a bit large for all day use. Milled from a solid round bar, these handles should last 1000 years.
My favorite handle.

Handle is very comfortable and works well against what I call "hand fatigue". Said term refers to the cramping and tired out feeling that can ensue when turning for prolonged periods or making numerous sweeping cuts when bowl hollowing. The handle fits well in your hand and its sheathing provides an effective cushion. The sheathing also acts as a great "shock" cushion when hitting rough or uneven patches of wood while rounding and/or roughing pieces. I plan to pick up 2 more in the near future.
