The first thing you notice about our Woodturning Handles are how good they feel in your hand. The comfortable rubber based grips provide great grip and comfort, and keeps the aluminum from feeling cold. They are milled from solid aircraft grade aluminum - their weight & balance giving the woodturner ultimate control. These handles absorb any chatter or vibration which otherwise would be transferred to your hand. We also have a limited number of 16" handles available drilled with a threaded knob at the base so you can add ballast - these are on sale now.
Tools are secured with two Stainless Steel set screws, 5/16" x 18 TPI. Our Quick Change Knobs (sold individually) are also a great choice - they allow you to position the tool to your desired length of reveal, and allow for quick removal for sharpening.
Handle Reducer Bushings (sold individually) are used to size down a handle. For instance if you have a 5/8 bowl gouge and a 1/2 bowl gouge and want to use only one handle for both, you would get the handle with a 5/8 receiver and put in the 1/2 inch handle bushing for when you wanted to use the 1/2 inch tool. Also a 1/2 to 3/8 inch bushing is commonly purchased with beading tools to reduce the 8 inch handle receiver size from 1/2 to 3/8 inch in order to accept the smaller shaft tools.
Note: Our D-Way Handles are drilled over-size to accept other brands of tools, however our tools may not fit into your existing handles.
