Parting Tool

-- Our Thin Woodturning Parting Tool is made from USA M-42 Cobalt steel. The cutting portion is 3 1/2" inches long, has a 1/2” tang, and is tapered from .080 thousandths to .060 thousandths. The taper helps to prevent binding.

-- Our Standard Woodturning Parting Tools are also made from M-42 HSS (Cobalt) with a 1/2" Tang. Traditional "old school" Parting Tools are great for Sizing Tenons, Beads, Coves, etc.  With these tools we recommend either the 12" or 8" handle with a 1/2" receiver (tighten set screws into thin side of tang). Or you can use it with your 5/8" receiver (socket) handle with a 5/8"- 1/2" handle bushing inserted.
