Our Woodturning Handles are milled from 6061 aluminum round bar rather than tubing for better balance and strength. They are 1-1/4" in diameter. A comfortable gently ribbed rubber cover, provides great grip and keeps hands from cold surface. Tool secured with two Stainless Steel 5/16" x 18 TPI set screws. Handle choice of 5/8" or 1/2" receivers.
The 8" Woodturning Handle is our go-to handle for beading tools, detail and spindle work - not heavy cuts.

Recently I purchased my first wood lathe and I am a novice at woodturning. I did a lot of research before deciding on purchasing both my lathe and my turning tools. After reading what others were saying about quality woodturning tools, I decided on purchasing D-Way tools. I called D-Way and was surprised that Dave, the owner of D-Way, answered the phone. He helped me greatly by giving me practical advice, based on his many years of woodturning experience, about which tools I would need for the particular type of turning that I wanted to do. I purchased 18 tools and 8", 12", and 16" handles from D-Way. The tools and handles arrived in three days. The quality of the tools and handles is exceptional. They arrived very sharp and I am very impressed as to how long they hold a sharp edge. I am also very pleased with the flexibility of these tools and how easy it is to switch the handles in order to have a longer or shorter length tool. I can whole heartedly recommend D-Way woodturning tools to anyone who is looking for high quality lathe tools that are sharp, cut wood like butter, and hold their sharpness well. The tools and handles are great and so is the customer service.

The handle is very well made. I would recommend this handle to my friends. I plan on getting more of them in the future. Good price too!

I never thought I'd write a review of tool handles. But then, I never thought I would use use metal handles instead of wood. So here I am with 5 D-Way handles of various lengths and bushing sizes.
First I have to say these are far more comfortable than I thought any metal handle could be. The vinyl covering is thick enough to completely insulate the cold metal, but not thick enough to feel soft and imprecise. These handles are thick, comfortable and provide excellent control. They are pretty light so are not tiring to hold, but provide enough heft (volume?) to allow for confident turning. Some also allow adding weight to the handle as desired for your comfort. A cool side effect of the absurdly large fast-change knobs (if you use them) is a clear extra reference to the orientation of the tool tip.
It's a cost effective system since you can start with one handle and a couple of bushings to support many turning tools. As your needs grow and your wallet allows you can add handles for variety or just to dedicate for frequently used tools.
Great design. Excellent execution. 5 stars for sure.

Got the handle earlier this week. Used it with D-Way beading tools. As with the other D-Way products I have bought, it is top quality.

I bought the handle for the D-Way bead cutters. The handle feels very good and balanced. It works well with the head cutters and also the parting tool.

I own the 8 and 12 inches models and they are my go-to handles with all compatible chisels. The quick-change knobs are also an excellent addition, but not necessary to enjoy turning with these handles.
