Been looking for a tool for the deep bowls I make. This fits the bill perfectly.
Smooth walls, smooth transition, smooth bottoms. You gotta love a smooth bottom!

These are by far the very best bowl gouges that I have used. The quality of the gouges and handles are superior. They stay sharp longer and they plow through wet wood. Saving my pennies to buy the 3/4 in bowl gouge.

This is a great gouge. Holds an edge for a very long time. Have only used it on a couple of bowls so far but it does the job it is intended to do.
Thanks, for the great product.

Really enjoy the D-Way 5/8 bowl gouge and 16” handle, and the service was excellent! Will absolutely be a repeat customer!

I am very pleased with this bowl gouge. I was very impressed with the fact that it came ready to use. It was very ground very well and was honed sharp as a razor. This tool holds an edge longer than any of my other bowl gouges. I made my own handle from walnut.

Perfect fit and finish right out of the box, stays sharp, solid as a rock using the long handle. From light shearing cuts to aggressive wood hogging, spending less time sharpening and more time turning.

I'm a hobby turner who prefers to turn fairly large bowls and have experimented with various tools from various manufacturers, including Crown ProPM, One-Way Master Cut, and Thompson. All of these are fine tools and they all do the job well, but this D-Way gouge beats them all in quality of manufacturing. The tang is longer than the One-Way which allows me to extend the tool out a few more inches for leverage. The bottom of the tang is thicker to reduce flex. The contour of the flute seems to be a nice compromise between a shallow "U" and a deep "V" and is easy to sharpen without putting a "dip" in the nose area. Like most fine gouges, it comes without a handle which makes it a little easier to swing on the grinder ... also, you pay for the tool , not the handle. I have two D-Way tools now and wish I had started with them. To me they are functional works of art at a competitive price. A career in military and commercial nuclear power taught me the principle of "attention to detail". D-Way tools have that.

I have used most bowl gouges out there and this is the besbest for me. It cuts better and stays sharp longer than
Even a Glacier v15. Thanks for making wood turning easy.

I’ve been a Woodturner for 47 years. Started when all bbergstbowl gouges carbon steel. I have turning tooled by all the major companies, but my go to gouges are D-Way. This is my third 5/8” bowl gouge. The are supporters in steel technologies and finish with optimal large sweet spot flute.
