This Wood Turning 1/8" Beading Tool is used with the flute down which lets it be used in a shear cutting manner. Sizes are bead size. Can be used on face plate or spindle work.
-- Recommend the 8" handles with 1/2" receiver, 1/2" to 3/8" bushings, & quick change knobs for all of our Beading tools and Diamond tool.
Note: Light touch is all that is needed; longer handles interfere with the bed of lathe.
Price does not include handles, which are sold separately. Want to add more handles? Click here >>>

I’ve been using the 1/4” tool and now have the 1/8” they work as designed; perfect symmetrical beads each time.

Started beading by using a modified detail gouge, then saw Harvey Meyer using D-Way 1/8 inch tool. Ordered one, then checked the mailbox daily here in Australia. Excitement plus when it arrived. Have now used it for a basket weave illusion - fantastic to use, fantastic to control, and fantastic result. Will be demonstrating it at a local club, you need a distributor in Australia. Thank you.

The D-Way beading tools along with the video make the basket illusion much easier and cleaner than other tools I have used.

Just getting started with basket weave illusion techniques. Started out with a Sorby 1/4" beading tool but did not like the results. By watching videos, I learned about D-Way tools and soon ordered one without the handle. Have completed two projects and like what I see. I like using the tool over segmented pieces which avoids the issue of dealing with end grain.

Both have performed perfectly. Sure beats trying to turn them the old way. I'll be looking to buy more D-Way tools in the future. Customer service has been super.
Many thanks

As with all of Dave's tools, the beading tools perform exactly as described and are a joy to use. They don't need a handle.

These are by far the best tools for beading. They are easy to use and leave a smooth surface that is ready for finish.
I also find that the tools stay sharper than the other beading tools I have tried.

The best beading tool I have ever bought

I own a number of Dave's tools and handles and have most recently added the 1/8" beading tool. I already have two other D-Way beading tools and wanted one in between those sizes for making bowls and platters with a basket weave effect. I haven't gotten around to the basket weave projects yet, but I have run a few beads with this new tool. I'm very happy to say (not unexpectedly) that it lives up to the high standards of all the other D-Way tools in my arsenal. It cuts clean crisp beads in both end and side grain and stays sharp for a long long time. I've seen people make rather long handles for these little tools, but honestly, the perform perfectly unhandled as there is almost no leverage working against the user. Having said that, I have added some small 2 inch handles to mine just to make them look nice.
Dave, keep cranking out the fine tools you have been and I'll be back for more (if and when these ever wear out).
