Product Description
6" Tool Rest Top Bar is used for upgrading your existing Powermatic or other cast iron or steel tool rest. The benefit is a smooth surface that will eliminate the need for filing, polishing, or waxing - it will not dent or ding like your existing tool rest.
- M-42 heat treated rod
- Rockwell hardness 65-66
- approximately 3/8" diameter
These have been tested over the last few years for performance and reliability in adhesion. When properly applied using long-acting JB weld (not included), we have had no reported failures. Watch the installation video to see how easy it is to make this modification. - - VIDEO Link

No More Hangups

The tool rest that came with the used lathe I purchased had a couple of dings in it. After a little sanding I was still experiencing hangups when working from side to side. As a new turner, this caused frustration.
The D-Way 6” top bar solved my problem. With the installation video, I was able to easily install the top rest and experience smooth travel from one end of the tool rest to to the other.

These work really well and are super easy to install! For less than the price of a cheap cast iron toolrest you can have a M42 steel toolrest that will never dent like cast iron!

I purchased both the 6" & 14" tool rest bars, which were the answer to my PowerMatic lathe's terrible tool rest surface. They were simple to install and look and work great (installation video very helpful).
