Product Description
5/8" Double-ended Round Nose Negative Rake Scraper - 1/4" x 5/8" x 10" long.
Round Nose on one end - Dome shaped on other end.
Exceptional at blending curves or finishing out that area you can't get quite right with a gouge or other tool. Our Neg Rake geometry is much more user friendly than standard scrapers - prevents catches and provides better tool control.
20* top angle and 70* bottom. Negative Rake scrapers are a must if you are turning plastic, acrylics, or dense hardwoods.
--Recommend either an 8" or 12" handle, depending on projects or personal preference. --

Nothing Negative about Negative Rake

I purchased the 5/8" Double-ended Round Nose NEG Rake Scraper for some inside scraping on two small ash potpourri Bowles. Due to some eccentricity in the wood I had to scrape two millimetres from one side of one of the bowls. The 5/8" Double-ended Round Nose NEG Rake Scraper arrived fully sharpened, and was able to take the wood off easily, and just one millimetre at a time, using light cuts, so as not to go through the bowls wall which was only a couple of mills thick. This scraper does require a handle with a 5/8 diameter hole. I have since used it on white oak and it cut a clean surface with no problems or catches. A great scraper to have.

Another terrific Boxmaster tool

Very useful tool for any number of situations. The different 'noses' allow delicate shaping inside and out for boxes and bowls. I'm still a novice, but these tools leave an exceptional finish, right out of the box (no pun intended).

Right out of the box I was able to get good clean results from this scraper. It cuts well, and leaves a nice finish.
