5/8" Double-ended Curved Negative Rake Scraper
Used for hollowing boxes, goblets, & other detailed work. The small contact surface excels at boring a hole quickly.
Our Neg Rake geometry is much more user friendly than standard scrapers - prevents catches and provides better tool control.
20* top angle and 70* bottom. Negative Rake scrapers are a must if you are turning plastic, acrylics, or dense hardwoods.
-- Recommend an 8" or 12" Handle with a 5/8" receiver. Tighten the set screws into the thin side of the tool. --

Excellent tool

I recently bought two Boxmaster scrapers (both 5/8") on the advice of a friend. I've used them on several projects and have been surprised at how well they work. They're incredibly sharp and allow smooth cuts on tight inside turns that I've not found using any other scraper. Despite using them for several hours on various projects, I've yet to sharpen them. Nice that they include a template for sharpening and a video online. Customer service is excellent.

The 5/8" Double-ended Curved NEG Rake Scraper is a fantastic combination.
The steel holds the burr longer than my other HSS scrapers.
Get them with the 8" handle for less than 2 other scrapers.
The handle feels really good and is the perfect weight and length IMHO.

I was skeptical of getting one of the negative rake scrapers for a while and finally pulled the trigger. I must say it was well worth it and I should have gotten one to begin with. Doing end grain work? No worries, this tool eliminates tear out! Just buy it - you’ll be glad you did!

With this tool I’m now able to turn the inside of a bowl and have NO tear out. Which makes for very little sanding. But the best thing is no catches.
