Skews

Our Woodturning Skews are made from the same M42 cobalt HSS. The skews bevels have been pre-sharpened and polished to a mirror finish. When received - they will be incredibly sharp and ready to make shavings. These are great tools for roughing out spindle work and beautiful clean cuts. Skew bottom edge has a full radius to facilitate easy maneuverability and a seamless transition along the tool rest. Top edge is squared off with the edges nicely eased and our tangs have a 45-degree chamfer. This level of finish makes the tool feel great in your hand and prevent tool marks on the lathe tool rest.

We offer five sizes and two profiles.

• NEW EXTREME - Straight & Curved: 1-13/16" wide, 7/16" thick with a 5/8" tang
• LARGE - Straight & Curved: 1-5/16" wide, 3/8" thick with a 5/8" tang
• MEDIUM - Straight & Curved: 1" wide, 5/16" thick with a 5/8" tang
• SMALL - Straight & Curved: 3/4" wide, 9/32" thick with a 1/2" tang
• DETAIL - Curved only: 1/2" wide, 1/4" thick with a 1/2" tang

Added Straight Skews to the lineup. Some turners prefer this traditional type of skew and plenty of customers have asked for it...so here you go - a size and profile for everyone!  ~ JIMMIE
