USPS has announced a temporary 8% price increase for domestic shipping rates for anything shipped from April 26th, 2026 to January 17th, 2027. This time-limited price change is driven by higher transportation costs across the market ⛽️. However, since they still haven't rescinded the "temporary" holiday increases from 2025, I think we can all agree this may be permanent.

Once again, we will mitigate these costs as best we can. Customers have received a post payment discount, where we pay our higher shipping/labor costs out of pocket. We will continue to send out your orders the fastest way possible within the flat rate shipping charges. D-Way is committed to giving you the best customer experience possible, including receiving your orders in a timely manner.

Been asking yourself - Why isn't my package here by now?

Thought you might be interested in what I found out when I put in a complaint about extended wait times for delivery of our customer's shipments.

Due to the government shutdown, which led to the traffic controllers strike, which led to airline cancellations, which led to the removal of carrier containers off some of the scheduled flights.

Sounds like even though things are running again, there are still the backlogs still spread in some areas due to all the flights cancellations. Can tell you in our neighborhood, Seattle is definitely one of them!

Canadian Shipments [UPDATE NOV 5&91;

Sorry my friends, first we navigate the tariff fiasco and now there are challanges with using our US Postal Service for parcels to Canada. Because of the rolling Canadian Postal strikes, USPS is not accepting shipment for Canadian addresses at this time - Canada Post does the last leg of the delivery. This restricts our usage to UPS. As some of you know the brokerage fees associated with UPS can be daunting at times. They have a UPS Worldwide Expedite which touts reduced fees and quicker transport, but of course it is more than the standard rate. Always happy to give a shipping cost estimate if you have something in mind. (UPS calculates their fees upon delivery.)

11/5/25 Update...US Postal Service (USPS) is now allowing us to ship using their carrier services. They still hand off to the Canada Post, so ultimately it depends on your confidence as to whether the rotating strikes will affect your endpoint delivery. UPS is still an option if you have a good experience using their services. As always, we will check as to the methods available for the order's weight, box size, and destination, and send you an estimate of the shipping options. Thank you for your patience in this crazy world.

USPS announced rate changes for domestic services starting on July 13th, 2025. This year's changes are all over the place, with some Priority Mail shipments increasing by up to 51%...

After implementation, we will re-evaluate our flat rate $13 shipping charge. It covers the cost of supplies, labor, transportation, & USPS/UPS charges. To date we have absorbed 4 shipping increases and will continue to do all we can to keep it reasonable for our customers.

AUG 10th Update

Well, there was definitely some bean counters doing some crazy algorithims to come up with these price increases. After a month, I am still suprised by the randomness - however they are definitely targeting the regions closest to the shipper. Will continue to track what the overall affect is. Since we do not buffer our costs within the tool prices we may have to ship via their slower methods, but will continue to ship the orders in fastest way possible within our flat rate charges.
