Product Description
Medium Woodturning Skew - 1" x 5/16" x 9" with a 5/8" Tang. M42 cobalt HSS.
We offer three additional sizes: largest skew at 1-5/16” x 3/8” x 9" with a tang that fits a 5/8” handle receiver; 3/4" x 9/32” x 9" with a tang that fits a 1/2” receiver; and the detail skew at 1/2" x 1/4" x 8" with a tang that fits a 1/2" receiver. All are radiused on the heel-edge of the shank to slide easily across the tool rest. The long point edge is machined flat. The short point edge has a machine radius to facilitate rolling beads. All sharp edges on the length of the shank have been softened. The skews bevels have been pre-sharpened and polished to a mirror finish, ready to make shavings.
Great tool for roughing out spindle work and beautiful clean cuts.

Scary sharp

Received skew along with a 12 in handle and a spare cutter for the D-Way hollowing tool. Skew was very sharp and attained scary sharp status with just a few strokes with a diamond hone. This tool, along with some other D-Way tools that I have, holds a very good edge during use. The balance and finish just spoils you to use any thing else.

I really like the weight of the skew and the way it holds an edge. Well dressed tool nice edges well sharpened. I have used to almost continually for a week without having to sharpen it as yet. The best tool I have ever purchased.

This is the first quality skew I've purchased, to add to my arsenal. If you are wondering whether to spend a few extra bucks, quit it. Be warned, though - if you buy D-Way tools, you'll no longer be able to blame your craftsmanship on the tool :). Simply a pleasure to use and the quality of the surface straight off the tool will leave you smiling.

Really love this skew. I've been using a straight skew, but the bevel and the radius make this the superior choice for spindle turning and all around lathe work.

DETERMINED TO LOVE A SKEW

I'm determined to improve my proficiency with a skew. I've used various size skews but I think this 3/4" skew will quickly become my favorite. It is thicker than some so it has a nice feel in your hand. The radius on the bottom edge make the skew easy to control. As with all D Way tools, it came to me sharp and ready to go. I also like the D Way handles and used the 12" handle on this tool.
