The CBN wheels are specifically designed to grind HSS. We are now offering fine and extra fine CBN wheels 360 and 600 Grit.
We have been using CBN grinding wheels for sharpening our turning tools and have found them to be a real asset. The wheels are factory balanced, which makes your grinders run very smooth. The grinding wheels have 1 1/2" face to use, they don't need any dressing therefore you won't have the mess of truing wheels and breathing the dust related to dressing wheels. There is no bluing of the steel, as these grinding wheels put very little heat into the tool. In a normal sharpening, you can still touch the end of the tool. If you noticed in the pictures of the grinders, we have removed the guards. You can remove the guards with these wheels because there is no chance of them blowing up. With the guards off, you have better light and no shadows from the guards when sharpening your tools. You still should use eye protection. The most popular sellers are 180 grit for our beading tools, skews and spindle gouges, and 80 grit for shaping and sharpening any of our larger turning tools. They do produce a great edge.

Great product, top quality, very helpful staff, but needs European distribution as delivery's 8 weeks and very high import tax, but worth it as there are no comparable products here. Would recommend this to anyone who wants sharp tools.

I used this 180 grit CBN wheel to replace an 80 grit zinc oxide wheel to sharpen lathe tools. It's well made and I've been using it regularly for several months. Much better than the prior wheel for sharpening my lathe tools.

I recently purchased a 180 grit wheel and it is great for sharpening my gouges. The purchase of the 80 grit wheel has enhanced my sharpening with the ability to reshape some gouges to a different profile with very little effort. I recommend this wheel very highly.

I knew nothing about CBN wheels but after reading and watching lots of videos and trying to figure out which one to get, I settled on D-Way and it has changed the way I sharpen. Now sharpening is not something I hate -doing it is easy and fast .
Awesome product!!!! And great service .
D-Way Tools is the best!

I got stupid and bought a wheel off of Amazon for a few dollars less. It wasn’t even round and terribly out of balance. I bought a replacement from Dway tools and it was a dream. Perfectly balanced and a dream to use.

This wheel is a must for reshaping your V10 and M-42 wood turning tools. Those steels are so hard it takes a 60 grit CBN wheel to grind them in a reasonable amount of time It is 1.5 inches wide so you do not slide off the wheel and mess up the grind. I use it with a platform so the angle is consistent. It will last my lifetime and get passed on to the next generation of wood turners. I do use a finer wheel for sharpening the edge after it is reshaped. It is definitionally worth the money.

Dave corrected my incorrect choice of a bushing after I reported the make of my grinder. So now I'm equipped with a 80-grit wheel as a companion for my 180 grit CBN wheel.

I ordered two CBN wheels recently and they are very quiet compared to my old wheels that sounded like a freight train coming through my workshop. Even better is the service that I got from Dave. I was struggling with the change over from old wheels to the new ones and Dave offered a very quick and practical fix to my issue. Very helpful service and great products
