Product Description
This Set of 5 Wood Turning Beading Tools are used with the flute down and that lets them to be used in a shear cutting way. Sizes are bead size. Can be used on faceplate or spindle work.
-- Includes Beading Tool sizes: 1/16", 1/8", 3/16", 1/4" and 3/8".
-- If you would like to replace any of the beading tools with another size or the Diamond Tool, just add a note to your order.
-- Light touch is all that is needed, longer handles interfere with the bed of lathe.
-- Recommend the 8" handles with 1/2" receiver, 1/2" to 3/8" bushings, & quick change knobs for our Beading tool sets.
Note: 3/8" receiver handles are now available if you are substituting out the 3/8" beading tool with a .515 diameter and planning to use only with the .390 diameter sized tools. See below for beading tool diameters.

I got a set of 5 including the diamond tool which is really handy for fine tuning beads or making grooves. Sure, I wish I had the skill to make beads by hand, but I recognize I'm not there yet. These are a fast way to really add some nice embellishments to items to make them stand out. Easy to over-do it!

D-Way Tools is an amazing company that responds with genuine interest in its customer if they have received them and are satisfied with them. I bought the 5 bead tool set and the Diamond Tool. This is a set of high quality, handmade tools. Obviously I am very happy with these products and the customer service of this company.

Great addition to my lathe tools

Beautifully made beading tools. Have used a 1/8” beading tool from D-way for a long time. Eliminates my problem with producing consistent small beads. Ordered the set of 5 but substituted the diamond point tool for the 1/8” tool. Could not have been easier to modify the order. Also ordered 1 handle and a quick change knob. Very simple to change tools in the handle, so at this point do not need a handle for each tool. Tools are simple to hone with a diamond hone. Recommend watching the videos on the D-way website to learn all the techniques for successful use. One tip that I have, is that once the width of the bead is defined, use a pencil to place a line down the center of the bead area. As soon as the pencil line disappears stop cutting. Prevents over cutting and chipping the top of the bead..

First off D-Way Tools is an awesome company that is fast as lighting in responding to your inquiries, patient and fully informative about their products. I purchased the 5 beading tool set (with alterations) and an 8” handle. They’re not only a set of high quality, hand crafted tools that require a very small learning curve to use, but are just simply beautiful to hold and look at. After this initial purchase I have since purchased the 16” handle which has become my go to handle for most of my turning needs. Obviously I’m very happy with this product and the client services of this company. Oh and in general I don’t do reviews so there you have it.

A few years ago I purchased the Sorby beading tools and used them but always had some issues getting great looking beads. Purchased the D-Way beading tools and am finding these work much better.

These products work great. Be sure to watch the videos to learn how to properly use them. The key is to use a light touch. One thing I didn't think about when I ordered the set is that the larger beads also make a deeper groove. If you're planning to use this on a thin-walled bowl, you might consider sticking to the smaller sizes.
